2014 Hugo Award Administrator Dave McCarty reports that this year’s Worldcon technical crew recorded the broadcast of the 1939 Retro-Hugo Awards Ceremony and will rebroadcast it on UStream with audible audio at a later date after Worldcon. We will announce here when the new version is available or rebroadcast is scheduled.
Technical problems affecting the audio portion of the Retro-Hugo broadcast have reportedly been resolved and Loncon 3 does not expect a repeat of them during Sunday’s 2014 Hugo Awards Ceremony broadcast on the UStream Hugo Awards channel starting at 20:00 (8 PM) British Summer Time.
In addition to the live-streaming broadcast of the Hugo Awards Ceremony, TheHugoAwards.org will have text-based live coverage of the ceremony via CoverItLive. This text-based coverage will not be synched with the UStream broadcast, so we encourage people to make their Hugo-watching plans accordingly.
So what’s the URL for the broadcast? And does it start at 8pm BST?
The ceremony does start at 20:00 BST. We’ve updated the post with the link to the UStream Hugo Awards channel.
